our story
since 1983
Our story starts in 1983 with Peter and Josie Flynn, who turned their love for Australian flora into a small retail nursery on a block of land in Tootgarook. As their knowledge and reputation grew, so did the business. In 1991, Glenvue Nursery moved to Melbourne Road in Rye, where Josie and her daughter Kate ran the retail store, supplying the local community with garden products and advice.
expanding
In 1995, Peter and his son Andrew expanded the business to include a wholesale nursery on Browns Road, also in Rye. Here, they began propagating native plants from seed and cuttings, supplying nurseries across Victoria. The success of this venture created the foundation for Nursery as it is today.
the merge of 06 - current
In 2006, the Melbourne Road retail site closed, and we opened the doors of our Browns Road nursery to the public. Since then, we have operated from one location, with the same dedication to quality and care.
Today, Glenvue Nursery is proudly run by three generations of the Flynn family. Open seven days a week, we continue to grow and supply a wide range of native and Indigenous plants, supporting the local environment and gardeners.
Whether you’re a profesional landscaper or a casual gardener, we’re here to help you and your garden grow with confidence just as we have for over 40 years.
